Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give site owners information about how their site is being used.
There are different types of cookies:
- First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting directly.
- Third-party cookies — set by a domain other than the one you are visiting (e.g., analytics or font services).
- Session cookies — temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
2. Cookies We Use
Percentage Increase Calculator does not set any first-party cookies. We do not use cookies for:
- User tracking or analytics
- Advertising or retargeting
- Session management (there are no user sessions)
- Personalization or preference storage
- Authentication (there are no user accounts)
3. Third-Party Cookies
While we do not set our own cookies, third-party services used by this site may set cookies on your device. Below is a detailed breakdown:
Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts to display the Nunito and Sriracha typefaces. When your browser loads fonts from Google's servers, Google may receive and process:
- Your IP address
- The URL of the page requesting the font
- Browser and device information (user agent)
Google states that it does not set cookies through the Google Fonts API and does not use this data for advertising purposes. However, the request itself constitutes a connection to Google's servers. For more information, see the Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
Hosting Provider
Our hosting provider may use technical cookies or similar technologies for essential purposes such as load balancing, DDoS protection, and security. These are operational in nature and are not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Other Storage Technologies
In addition to cookies, websites can use other browser storage mechanisms. Here is how we use (or don't use) them:
| Technology | Used? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Cookies | No | We do not set any first-party cookies |
| Local Storage | No | No data is persisted between sessions |
| Session Storage | No | No session data is stored |
| IndexedDB | No | Not used |
| Web Beacons | No | No tracking pixels are used |
| Fingerprinting | No | We do not use browser fingerprinting techniques |
5. How to Control Cookies
Even though we don't set cookies, third-party cookies may still appear through embedded services. You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
You can also use browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger to block third-party requests entirely. Note that blocking Google Fonts requests may cause the site to display in your system's default font, but this will not affect the calculator's functionality.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. Since we do not track users in any way, our site effectively honors DNT by default — there is no tracking to disable.
7. GDPR and Cookie Consent
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive, websites must obtain user consent before setting non-essential cookies. Since this site does not set any first-party cookies and does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies, a cookie consent banner is not required. However, we provide this policy for full transparency about how your browser interacts with our site and the third-party services it connects to.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we begin using analytics, advertising, or any other services that set cookies, we will update this Cookie Policy accordingly and, if required by law, implement a cookie consent mechanism before those cookies are set. Changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page.
